Once again, Ruth’s signature is the most forged among athletes, according to PSA/DNA Authentication Services.

Other Yankees stars, such as Lou Gehrig, Mickey Mantle and Joe DiMaggio are also high on the list too, that’s compiled annually.

“There’s probably less than a 50-50 chance autographs offered in the marketplace of many current and former sports and entertainment celebrities are genuine,” said Joe Orlando, President of PSA/DNA, a division of Collectors Universe, Inc.

12-Year-Old Fan Gives Record Grand Slam Ball Back to Alex Rodriguez

The 12-year-old fan who retrieved Alex Rodriguez’s record 24th career grand slam ball from the stands at Yankee Stadium says he gave it back because he felt the slugger had “worked hard” for the feat and deserved it.

Steven Gieseler Jr., of East Islip, scooped the ball from beneath a seat as Rodriguez rounded the bases in a game against the Giants on Sept. 20.

The slam allowed Rodriguez to break a record held by Steven’s all-time favorite Yankee, Lou Gehrig.

But the middle schooler tells Newsday ( that when a security official approached him and said Rodriguez wanted the ball, he had no problem turning it over.

He said, “It’s the player’s accomplishment.”

Rodriguez met with the boy after the game and gave him an autographed bat and ball.

According to Bill Madden of the New York Daily News, sources close to the situation have revealed that A-Rod and his entourage are so worried about the MLB investigation against him that he is stepping up his return date so he could retire before MLB has time to suspend him.

Those sources added that as soon as Rodriguez plays rehab games he could claim he is physically unable to perform because of the significant hip surgery, retire and collect his full salary under his current contract. Currently the New York Yankees owe him $114 million over the next five years.
